Jobs: Cycling Instructors

Pedal Ready, one of the north of England's fastest growing cycle training organisations, is looking for new cycling instructors to help us train over 3,000 children and adults to cycle confidently and safely in Sheffield and Doncaster. Pedal Ready is a co-operative with an equal pay structure based in Sheffield.

You'll need to be someone who uses a bike as transport of choice, and you should have an interest in passing on real urban cycling skills in a positive way to children and adults.

You'll need to go on a Bikeability training course (4 days) and there are bursaries available towards the course fees of about £400.00.

You'll also need an enhanced CRB check, and you should be ready to support the Pedal Ready cooperative in any way you can as we continue to grow and find new areas of work. Your reward will be a fantastic job with more than 30 supportive colleagues. It is possible that in the near future there will be an option of becoming an employee at the equivalent rate of pay.

The role is freelance and you will be expected to commit to working a regular number of days between 2 and 5 days per week during term-time. The days you work can be flexible and can include half days.

The pay is £11.25 per hour including travel time and lunch breaks. The role involves cycling to locations across Sheffield.

We are under-represented by ethnic minority groups and women and would particularly like to encourage applications from people in these groups.

Application closing date Friday 27th November 2009.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Georgia by phoning 0114 2412775 or by e-mail admin@pedalready.co.uk.

Application/information pack available from dave.baillie@pedalready.co.uk or Dave Baillie on 0114 241 2776/5. E-mail return of applications is acceptable.
