Support your local school - Become a School Governor

Have you ever thought about being a school governor?

There will be elections for parent governor vacancies at local schools early in the Autumn term 2008. If you are not a parent you could contribute as a Local Authority governor or a Community governor.

Sheffield is doing well compared to other local authorities in recruiting and retaining Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) school governors [7.7%] but the Council wants to improve further!

Sheffield is working with a local BME Governors Network to double our numbers.

If you would like to become a School Governor, or would like more information, please telephone (0114) 250 6868.
