The Race For Life training sessions at Verdon Recreation Centre have paid off and, on Sunday 15th June 2008, 15 local ladies completed the 5km, starting and finishing at Don Valley Stadium.
Everybody did really well and 10 of the ladies are now going to carry on training for a 10km event at Wentworth Castle in September. The group managed to raise almost £1000 for Cancer Research. The training sessions are open to both males and females and they leave Verdon Recreation Centre at 1pm on a Wednesday. For further information contact 249 1626.
