Job Opportunities in the NHS

Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust manages five acute adult hospitals in Sheffield, ie Northern General, Royal Hallamshire, Jessop Wing, Weston Park and Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. The trust is the second largest in England and employs approximately 13,000 staff.

We currently have work placements available, through “Apprenticeships for All”, in health care, domestic services, portering/transport, laundry catering and some administrative roles.

Placements start with a twenty week training programme – ten weeks of in house training and ten weeks on the job training. The in house training will consist of three days in the classroom and two days in the workplace for a total of 33 hours per week. This will be followed by ten full weeks in the workplace for 37½ hours per week. You will be provided with a workplace ‘buddy’ to support you throughout the training and work placement.

On succesful completion you will be given preferential consideration for employment. Please note that some positions will require you to undergo a CRB check.

If you are interested in a career in the NHS and would like to apply for a placement in one of the areas mentioned, please contact Apprenticeships for All on 0114 272 2743.

  • Closing date for applications at this stage is 5pm, Friday 7th September.

  • Applicants must live in the Burngreave area to be eligible.
