BTCV Green Gym in Burngreave

Story by Clare Mulhall (BTCV)

Following on from nearly 50 other BTCV Green Gyms across the country, Burngreave now has its own, thanks to funding from Burngreave New Deal for Communities.

The BTCV Green Gym offers the chance for people to get out into the fresh air and get active by taking part in gardening and nature conservation.

Unlike a traditional gym or exercise classes, the Green Gym is free, you don’t need any fancy clothing and you don’t need to worry about feeling unfit – everyone works at their own pace.

By taking part in the BTCV Green Gym you can improve your health and fitness, reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, make new friends and feel more positive about life. You can also make a real difference to your local environment.

Sessions are held every Monday, with a women only session starting soon on Wednesdays. If you have children we can pay for childcare costs to enable you to come and take part.

If you would like to know more about the BTCV Green Gym or are interested in giving it a go, please phone Clare Mulhall on 272 3591 or email c.mulhall@btcv.org.uk.
