Sure Start’s wonderful achievements

Dear Messenger,

A word of thanks to Burngreave and Fir Vale Sure Start for their excellent services and great success. As a father in the Fir Vale area, I would like to thank the Sure Start programme manager and staff for their initiative and hard work.

One of Sure Start’s wonderful achievements was setting up the “parent together meetings”, where parents in Burngreave and Fir Vale meet monthly to discuss and exchange their views, and have their say on issues concerning parents and their children, such as healthcare, childcare, healthy food, child education, learning difficulties, child minders and nurseries. It is a good opportunity for all parents to meet each other and develop friendships.

I would also like to congratulate them for their well organised and wonderful achievements. A day event was held at Sure Start, Abbeyfield House Office, on 24th June for all parents contributing to the programme to recognise their contributions, which really counts for SureStart’s brilliant image.
