SOAR community job vacancies

SOAR is an award winning regeneration charity in North Sheffield which provides a number of services for the community including health, buildings management, training and support into employment.

SOAR has two exciting vacancies in our Health Team for:

Health Trainer (2 posts to be recruited)

Grade: Scale 2 Spinal Point 14 – 18: £15,725 – £17,161 (pro rata)

8% pension contribution

Note. Salary scale currently under review

25 days annual leave entitlement & Bank holidays (pro rata)

Initial fixed term contract to March 2016 (extension subject to funding)

Post A (37 hours per week) – Southey GP Practice Association Area

Post B (18.5 hours* per week) – High Green GP Practice Association Area

Note. *Hours currently under review, with intent to increase to 37 hours per week.

Health Trainers will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to develop healthier behaviours and lifestyles in the context of their own local communities, namely within:

Post A – Southey GP Practice Association Area, incorporating: • Parson Cross, Southey, Shirecliffe and Longley areas.

Post B – High Green GP Practice Association Area, incorporating: • High Green, Burncross, Ecclesfield, Grenoside and Foxhill areas.

Note. This includes above areas that fall within Southey and High Green Community Wellbeing Programmes (CWP).

It focuses on engaging with individuals in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.
