1) Brambles Housing Co-op
70 Andover Street
Sheffield S3 9EH
These two Victorian houses, one semi-detached and one detached, have seen work to make them warmer and cheaper to heat. Several rooms have internal wall insulation, whilst external insulation is present in the sides of both houses. Solar panels heat water and radiators.
We are happy to bring children but they must be supervised by adults. The houses are not very accessible for people who have limited mobility due to being on different levels and connected by steep steps. People cycling here are welcome to put their bikes in our locked back garden during the tour.
Travel information: Opposite the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Andover Street. Parking can be more difficult on a Sunday. Bus stops on Spital Hill and Rock Street are very near us – please see Travel South Yorkshire's website for details of getting to us from where you live.
Opening for a tour at 12:30pm on Sun 11th October 2015 – please book ahead at:

2) 266 Barnsley Road Sheffield S4 7AG
This detached Victorian property has been renovated with the aim to minimise the environmental footprint, and to make the house as self-sufficient as possible.
Attic insulation, draught proofing, solar hot water, and wall insulation are utilised in the property. Secondary double glazing and double glazed sash windows have made the house feel more comfortable. Solar PV, LED lightbulbs, and a condensing boiler are available to view.
Open for a tour at 11am on Sun 11th October 2015 – please book ahead at:
