Arches Housing held a street party on Sunday, 14th June to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Almost 200 of Arches’ residents, partners and members of the local community turned out, in spite of the weather. The Escalfeld Brass Band, Pantasy Steel Drum Band & DJ Sonam provided the soundtrack to the day. Everyone enjoyed Zumba, giant Jenga, bouncy slide, face painters, magician, a balloon race and soaking employees with wet sponges in the ‘Splash the Staff’ stocks.

The street party was also the launch of the Arches’ new logo and strapline, ‘People Communities Homes’, which emphasise the three most important things to us as a business.

Michael Hill, Resident Involvement Officer and organiser of the event said,

“We didn’t want to have an event for our 40th birthday in a stuffy hotel or conference centre! What makes us great is our tenants and community. We’re lucky enough to say that our residents are also our neighbours and we wanted them to help us celebrate! It was a great day and we hope everyone that came to see us had as good a time as we did!”
