Offering or Ornament? An investigation into Shirecliffe Hall.
Working in collaboration with the Friends of Parkwood Springs, the archaeologists carried out geophysical survey to establish the position and size of Shirecliffe Hall and gardens.
Parkwood Springs Community Archaeology Project
The archaeologists are working alongside the Parkwood Springs Residents Group to investigate the history of the demolished Parkwood Springs village. The focus of investigation is a 19thcentury railway bridge which served as the primary road access route to the village.
The Engine House Enigma Archaeology Project
This archaeological project is based at the 19th-century cemetery at Burngreave, working with the Friends of Burngreave Cemetery. This investigation focused on locating the remains of the mining industry in the area, specifically an Engine House.
