SCC Waste savings consultation

Sheffield City Council say –

In the last 4 years we have reduced our budget by £238 million, we now need to make a further saving of £60 million. Waste services need to save £3.4m by 2017 to help us balance our budget.

We have identified a number of different options to reduce spending in 3 areas of waste management:

  • black bin collections

  • recycling collections

  • introducing charges for replacement containers

Before any changes of this type are introduced there will be a dedicated consultation exercise with the local community.

Have your say

You can help us to decide which options to take forward by taking part in our online survey. This sets out which options are being considered, of which none, some or all may be taken forward and implemented.
