Plates and pizza

Story:Green City Action

In early autumn Sheffield City Council supported Green City Action (GCA) to host two free pottery workshops at the School for Vegetables site on Grimesthorpe allotments.

Local potters Emilie Taylor and Victoria Dawes ran the workshops as part of the People’s Pottery Project, which encourages pop-up potteries where communities can use pottery to tell their stories about food with a delightful practical outcome.

Emilie and Victoria supported locals to make and decorate their own plates, drawing inspiration from the allotment. The sessions were followed by pizza making using the new wood fired oven. The participants then had the pleasure of eating their own pizzas from dishes they had made and decorated themselves.
