Children from Pitsmoor Adventure Playground are becoming active citizens. The children aged between 8-13 have become so fed up with people dumping rubbish they arranged a community clean up.
The children tidied the areas around Burngreave Cemetery and surrounding roads. In total 25 bags were filled and three sofas collected. Patrick Meleady playground manager said:
Our children have been complaining for weeks about people dropping litter and dumping rubbish outside of the playground and our local cemetery and they wanted to do something about it. The young people coordinated this clean up and are pleased with the result, and all are a credit to their families and community.

What an excellent initiative! That's the way to teach children.
