The WW1 postcard exhibition was enjoyed by visitors during its three day opening and most of the display is still available to view on Sundays. As part of the WW1 event, we created a small well dressing inspired by one of the postcards.

Victoria Smith began her six-month term as our new artist-inresidence on the 1st July. Her focus is the beautiful carving on the gravestones in our Cemetery. She will be staging an exhibition of her work called “All Souls' Day” on Sunday 2nd November, which will be available to view until Christmas. For further information see the Artist-in-Residence section of the Friends of Burngreave Cemetery website or e-mail

The bees continue to flourish and we recently extracted our first honey harvest. We also held a scything training day so that we can care for the new wild-flower meadow around the hives. Mosaic workshops began in August, leading eventually to the creation of a sundial in the grass.
