A unique opportunity to gain specialist football and leadership training from professional coaches is being offered free to young people aged 16-18 who are not in education, training or employment.
The coaching, which will take place at Sheffield United Academy on Firshill Crescent in July, includes:
Football skills training with professional coaches at SUFC Foundation
Leadership training
Entry to a celebration event at Bramhall Lane Stadium
Attendees will also gain a Certificate in Sports Leadership and will be able to find out about a range of courses and training opportunities designed to improve their sporting skills and employment prospects in the sports sector.
Participants will also receive three months support after the programme to help them move into education, training or employment.
‘Get started in Football’ is open to anyone aged 16-18 from South Yorkshire and not in education, training or employment – (prior football experience is not necessary).
The training programme is completely free, with travel expenses and lunch provided every day.
The course runs from Monday 21st – Friday 25th July 2014, 10am-3pm at Sheffield United Academy, Firshill Crescent, Sheffield, S4 7DR.
A taster session is being held on Thursday 17th July 2014, 12-2pm at Sheffield United Academy.
