Friends of Parkwood Springs have some events coming up:
Heathland work-day
Saturday 25th January at 10am
Meet to clear some of the scrub that is squeezing out the heather in the area between the football pitches and Rutland Road. Please meet at 10am at the main car park on Cooks Wood Road/Shirecliffe Road. If you are late, ring 0777 156 4883 to find out where the group are. You are welcome to come for as long as you can, but all will finish at 12 noon. The Rangers will supply the tools.
Friends of Parkwood Springs group meeting
Tuesday February 4th at 7pm
The group will be meeting at at St Catherines School, Firshill Crescent, S4 7BX and will be catching up on developments with the Landfill restoration and the Ski Village, and seeing what the group can do when the Tour de France comes past the site in July.
They will also have a display of some photos and memorabilia of the old Parkwood Springs village by one of their members from 6.30pm.
Old Beighton landfill trip
Saturday March 8th at 10am
The group are planning a trip to learn about the restoration of the old Beighton landfill, leaving Cooks Wood Road at 10am. Please let the group know as soon as possible, and no later than the meeting on February 4th, if you would like to come on this. There will be a charge of £2 for transport.
