Sheffield City Council Community Forestry is planting 5 new trees on Earl Marshal Road with local children from Fir Vale School and ward councillors. The event is on Wednesday 5th March 2014 on the Earl Marshal/Rushby St green space and will create a new avenue of Sweet Chestnut trees along Earl Marshal Road.
The planting will be the first in a series of environmental education events run by Community Forestry and Fir Vale School as part of the children’s personal and social development lessons.
The children will also be planting other trees in their community as well as helping to create an edible garden for the elderly residents of Crabtree Grange sheltered housing.
