Creating the well dressingell Dressing

A well dressing design, inspired by one of the embroidered postcards in the Burngreave cemetery WW1 exhibition, was put together this week by a variety of people who – donated the flowers – built the frame – puddled the clay and attached the petals.

In addition to a number of adults, ten young people enjoyed helping this time and asked to come back for the next well dressing event.

Most of the exhibition is still on display at the old mortuary chapel near the Melrose Road entrance. The chapel is open every Sunday 11.00am – 3.00pm
