Sheffield Palestine Solidarity Campaign has organised several demonstrations in support of the people of Gaza recently, with protests outside Sheffield Town Hall and at the BBC's Sheffield office attended by several hundred local people, including many from Burngreave.
Chris Searle, an ex headteacher from Burngreave, attended the demonstration on 26th July 2014, outside Sheffield Town Hall in support of the people of Gaza. He said: “I was pleased to see and meet again some of my old students who live in Burngreave who I haven't seen for a long time. I can remember twenty years ago when as students they were writing very moving creative work about Palestine and the struggle of its people.”
