Library staff at Burngreave Library presented children with certificates and medals in September for completing the Summer Six Book Challenge.
Organised by the library staff, children were encouraged to read a book each week. They were rewarded along the way with stickers for their ‘Creepy House’ wall chart. Over 25 children completed the challenge, mainly aged between 4 and 11 years old, but with some older ones too. Janet encouraged children to still come to the library to collect medals if they had not yet been.
Danica said,
“It was good reading all the books. I liked reading Horrible Histories. The stickers were good – some of them were smelly!”
Imaan said,
“It was fun, I liked reading about Oliver Cromwell and I got a medal.”
Gresha said,
“My favourite was Rainbow Magic: Alice the Tennis Fairy."
