Story: John Woodcock, Activities Coordinator

Residents at Westbourne House nursing home on Earl Marshall Road took part in a themed event based on the TV reality show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in July 2013.

The sun came through for the afternoon, so the residents, along with staff, took part in fishing at Crocodile Creek and Reptile River, hook-the-tiger, shoot-the-monkey, jungle netball, poison darts and frisbee throwing. Medals were awarded for the participants.

We had a brilliant day – everyone enjoyed themselves and as one visitor remarked, “Life doesn’t just begin at 40 here!” Other recent themed days included Ladies Day at Ascot, American Independence Day and a Spanish theme day – and our next one?… that’s another story!
