A public gardening work-day will take place at the Forest Garden on Parkwood Springs on Saturday 8th June (11am-2pm).
anyone is entitled to turn up and help with as much or as little of the gardening as they like. the work is supervised by the community forester.
This month's work will be mulching fruit trees and bushes, planting gorse and broom plants, fruit tree husbandry, removal of mulch matting and general maintenance.
Community Forester Tim Shortland, said,
“The garden was very much in flower last month and looking wonderful, a good sign for the fruit come in late summer. The forest gardening day was successful with the first weeding and planting of the new season. I am looking forward to seeing how well the new plants and bushes we planted are establishing in their new home.”
