South Yorkshire Police and Sheffield City Council have decided to introduce a ‘Section 30’ Dispersal Order to the areas of Fir Vale and Firth Park.
The Police say the Section 30 is in response to residents' concerns over a rise in anti-social behaviour.
Sheffield North East Police Team announced that the order, which provides law enforcers with additional powers to disperse groups of people, will start on the 12th August 2013.
The measures will continue until the 17th November.
Update:
The Section 30 Dispersal Order in Fir Vale has been extended for a further 3 months until 11th February 2014.
Inspector Simon Leake from the North East Safer Neighbourhood Team said:
"I hope the order will continue to provide reassurance for residents and businesses who may have had some issues with antisocial behaviour.
“The case for continuing the order remains, and the police will take robust action where offending is apparant, or where the direction to disperse is contravened.”
