Police have arrested a Sheffield man in connection with a shooting incident which occurred in Burngreave on the evening of Tuesday 9th October.
A twenty-two-year-old local man suffered gun shot wounds to his hand and arm. After being treated in A & E, the man's wounds were said to be ‘not life threatening’.
Chief Inspector Iain Chorlton said:
“Following ongoing enquiries and information received from the public, we have arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in custody assisting the police with their enquiries”.
He added that officers were keeping an open mind as to the intended victim but that there was no risk to the wider public.
The incident is believed to have happened on Burngreave Road between 7pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday 9th October. Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the Burngreave Road area at that time, who heard or saw anything suspicious that could assist with the investigation.
