Sheffield Flood Resilience Network aims to support individuals and businesses to prepare for the impact of floods and to inform people what support they can benefit from.
A training day is to be held on Wednesday 28th March at SYAC on the Wicker, a building which saw the worst of the flooding when the River Don broke its banks in 2007.
The event is between 10am and 2pm and aims to :
Introduce the concept of why we need to plan for flood, flood risk and the actions which can be taken before, during and after a flood
Develop local skills to build community resilience, leadership skills and capacity in flood risk areas
Convey the support networks available in this area and their role in times of flood
Communicate information on Sheffield Flood Resilience to build community resilience to flood.
