A summer festival in Abbeyfield Park has been a fixture for over a decade. This year there will be two.
After concern that the Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival would not take place, a date has now been set for Sunday 8th July.
New to the park this year is Sumfest UK, which will be an Urban Music festival on Sunday 29th July.
Sumfest organisers looked at a range of venues from Don Valley to Devonshire Green, before settling on Abbeyfield. The stage will be the main attraction with sound system and a range of urban music artists. There will also be stalls, activities for children and fairground rides.
The Multicultural Festival will keep a focus on community, with local acts, stalls and children's activities. Time is short and they are calling for local people's support to book stalls, stage performances and to volunteer on the day.
