Hucklow praised by OFSTED

Hucklow Primary School received a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating in March, with ‘much that is outstanding’ with the teaching.

The report praised the behaviour of the children and the support the school receives from parents, which it describes as ‘overwhelming’. It states that pupils feel safe and bullying is almost ‘nonexistent’. OFSTED were also impressed by the progress children made with their learning while at Hucklow, stating that “attainment levels are rising, including in reading, and have done so over a sustained period.”

OFSTED also said ‘the school is well led and managed at all levels’. Headteacher, Susan Arnold, praised the partnership that had led the school to success:

“The reason the school is so successful is because the senior leadership team have focused on making improvements and developed a partnership between parents, children and the school. I am really proud of all the people involved in the school. It’s a real joint effort in making our school successful.”
