This is a post with the council for a Community Development Worker to work with the Somali Community. The post is for 18.5 hours per week and some out of office hours working will be required. There is scope to extend the post for a further 18 months (subject to carry over approval.) The post holder will be required to work closely with the Somali Unity Committee. The SUC is made up of representatives from two organisations, ISRAAC and the Sheffield Somali Community Centre (SSCC) and other Somali groups and individuals. The post will have a key role in supporting the delivery of cohesion and community empowerment and engagement activity within this community of interest and across the city.
