Launch of the Sheffield Community Network

Date: Tuesday January 31 2012, from 10.30 am to 2 pm.

Venue: Health and Well-Being Centre, Sheaf Training Centre

The Sheffield Community Network is a new initiative, funded through the European Regional Development Fund. It aims to promote digital opportunities in Sheffield communities to encourage social enterprise, job creation and digital participation. The programme will provide advice, support and funding to individuals and groups across the city.

The project will invest in a number of social enterprises and local community centres to encourage people in the digital industries, especially those who are facing social exclusion and disadvantage.

As part of this investment, two grant schemes will distribute funding and support:

11am Presentations about the programme, including:

1pm Buffet lunch and optional tour of the centre

Please note that parking is very limited at the venue, so let us know in advance if you need a parking space. There are excellent public transport links available and we would encourage the use of car sharing wherever possible.
