Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced youth and community development worker to work with young people in the Vestry Hall area of Burngreave to develop their self confidence, aspirations and skills, particularly to develop their capacity to take responsibility for and provide leadership of provision.
Specifically to:
Support the work with young men in Vestry Hall, predominantly aged 16-24 and mainly, but not exclusively, from Somali and Yemeni backgrounds
Develop work to encourage and support young women
Work with parents and families to enable them to support youth work with younger aged children.
The successful applicant will be part of a supportive team, but will need to be able to take a lead, work independently and on their own initiative.
Salary
£19,328 (actual amount) + 8% pension contribution.
Hours
30 hours per week, regular evening and weekend work required.
This is a short-term post funded until March 2013.
