Burngreave Road was cordoned off for several hours on Friday 20th April, after a young man was stabbed. The Police told the Messenger,
"Officers are currently investigating a wounding, which occurred around 6.20pm on Friday 20 April 2012 in the Rock Street and Burngreave Road area of Sheffield. As a result, of the incident an 18-year-old man sustained a stab wound to his leg and chest.
Police stated that the young man's injuries were “not believed to be life threatening” and they currently believe it was a targeted attack. They said,
“At the time the area was cordoned off for a period to allow the scene to be investigated. Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team assisted CID officers with enquiries over the weekend and are continuing to carrying out regular patrols in the area.”
