Caribbean Health and Well-being Group volunteers organised a day of food and activities on 3rd July at SADACCA, as part of Sheffield food festival.

There was plenty of things to do for the whole community, with a dominos tournament, karaoke and card games. Children showed older members games on the Nintendo wii, and everyone enjoyed listening to reggae music and zumba dancing for fitness. Some members of the Caribbean health and well-being group were congratulated for taking part in the Race for Life, which is a charity run to support people with breast cancer. Each year members run in memory of two founding members of the group who died from breast cancer.

The atmosphere of the event was fabulous, and the bright sunshine was just right for the healthy barbecue which included grilled yam, breadfruit and chicken, with salad and rice.

The Group’s next event: Member’s Allotment growers competition 29th August, 1-8pm at SADACCA. For more info call 263 4404
