Goodbye Sandra!

Local teacher, Sandra Heilberg, leaves Byron Wood

Story: Smaira Sadique

Sandra Heilberg has been teaching ESOL at Byron Wood since September 2006, where she has become a respected member of the staff team in a way that even she didn’t think she would.

Some of her earlier students have passed exams, some have got jobs and some have gone on to study further at college. Sandra said:

“I love teaching at Byron Wood. Everyone is really supportive and helpful. It’s a truly multicultural environment where people are happy to share experiences, stories and friendship.”

Colleagues and students came together to say ‘goodbye’ to Sandra on June 23rd at a party organised by learners.

Sandra will be missed immensely, by colleagues and learners alike. She has promised to come back to visit but I doubt she will want to return from sunny Malaysia which is where she is moving to. Goodluck and Goodbye Sandra, we will miss you!
