Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival continued for another year thanks to the local volunteers who made it happen.

People from all of Burngreave’s communities came together to enjoy the entertainment in the park on Sunday 10th July. Regular host MC Nige presented new faces and old on the stage. Performers showed their talents in singing, dancing and martial arts for the crowds.

The field, that is often empty and quiet on other days, was noisy with music booming out the flavour of the 2011 festival. Caribbean, Pakistani and English food were on offer, as well as the usual football area, bicycle maintenance, tea tent, circus skills, stalls, henna, face-painting and children’s games. And for the second year running a successful health zone.

Many thanks to all the organisations who have supported the festival this year.
