Small bomb thrown at train - News from 1887

Tuesday April 19 1887:

On Sunday night as the train from Sheffield to Manchester, which leaves Sheffield about 7.35, was passing Parkwood Springs, a small bomb was thrown at it and struck one of the carriages, exploding with a loud report. Mr. and Mrs. Ruff, of Stocksbridge, and a lady bound for Liverpool, were among the passengers, who were very much frightened. A deep dent was made in the carriage…
