Okpara deportation deferred

Campaigners supporting the Okpara family have told the Messenger that their deportation will not take place on 25th October.

Mildred and her young family have been supported by local school, St Catherine's Primary, and other local residents. They were sent a letter in October by the UK Border Agency saying that they would be deported on a flight booked for the 25th October, following a refusal to grant them asylum.

The deportation has now been deferred. A new date has not been given. The campaign continues – more details in previous stories from the Messenger.
