Owler Brook Nursery Infant School created an amazing celebration of culture for pupils and families in July.

With food, costumes, games and languages from around the world, children could travel the globe without leaving their own school. Children dressed up in clothes from other countries, tasted different foods, enjoyed Bollywood and country dancing and learned to count in other languages.

In the afternoon, ice cream, face painting, hooka- duck, a bouncy castle and a penalty shoot-out were just a few of the delights on offer. Children designed their own stalls and parents prepared traditional food for the whole community to enjoy.

Head Teacher Sue Bridges explained what the day had been all about,

“Our school is fortunate to serve a community that is rich in cultural diversity. We wanted to create a really special day where the children could share their traditions, costumes, food, language and knowledge.”
