At Sheffield’s Celebrating Success Awards on 29th April local parents’ group PITS (Parents Intervention Takes a Stand) received an award for their contribution to creating positive activities for young people.
The group, pictured alongside boxing coach Brendan Ingle, who also received an award, were recognised for the work they’ve done in the last year on Verdon Street.
The group set up to make sure there were activities available for their children. Now they have set up their own office on Verdon Street which is due to be launched on 19th June. They have also made progress with getting Denholm Playground refurbished, which they helped clear last year. The Council is now in discussion with them about what equipment can be replaced in the park.
