Residents have raised concerns about the development on Grimesthorpe Road by Redwall.
The company received planning permission for flats and an old people’s home, despite objections from local residents that the development is too large.
Redwall have already begun building houses on the site. Some are five storeys high. Complaints have been made to the Council about the treatment of protected trees along the edge of the site and of blocking the road to traffic with works vehicles. There is also evidence that construction vehicles have been driven over Smithies Field, which is an area of natural interest and home to a wide range of plants and animals.
Residents have complained to the Council’s Enforcement Officers who are in discussion with the developers. If you have any concerns about how the Developers are treating the area, contact the Council on 273 4590.
