New houses

The Council has received £2.1m from the government to build 19 new houses at Ellesmere, on the site of the demolished old people's home.

However, the Council failed to secure funding for 20 houses at Earl Marshal, which will not go ahead. The 19 houses at Ellesmere will be built to a high level of energy efficiency and will range from 2-bed to 5-bed rooms.Building will start in March 2011 with completion due in March 2012.

The designs will be discussed at the Burngreave New Housing Group – if you would like to attend the next meeting contact East Regeneration Team 261 7216.
