Right at the top of Wincobank Hill is the site of an Iron Age hill fort that dates back thousands of years. Nowadays you can just make out the rim around the top of the hill where the walls would have stood.
The view over the Don Valley is fascinating and the walk through the woods is very peaceful. You feel a long way from the hustle and bustle of city life.
