Story: Ruth Chiat

Children at St Catherine's Catholic Primary School celebrated the opening of their new cycle parking with a fantastic trials display show!

Ben Slinger and Danny Butler are European Championship trials riders and came to Sheffield specially for the event! Children were amazed and awed by their spectacular stunts and were told by Ben and Danny

“if you want to get good at stunts, go home and practice balancing, always wear a helmet, and don't forget, cycling to school is cool!”

It was also the launch of Sustrans' Bike It Project in their school.

All the children that cycled to school on the morning of the 6th of October were treated to a free healthy breakfast and a free safety check for their bike from Bike It Officer, Ruth Chiat, and mechanics from Pedal Ready.

The school will be working with Ruth to promote cycling as a healthy, environmentally-friendly, and fun way to travel to school. In the run up the Christmas holidays, the children will be taking part in a virtual bike race to snowy Lapland!
