Young People's Theatre Skills

A Mind Apart
A Mind Apart

A new service is about to start at Pitsmoor Methodist Church on Burngreave Rd to give young people a chance to learn about performance from professionals.

Dancing, Rapping, Singing, Acting, Making Movies and Music Videos will be on offer every Friday (7-9pm) from Mind Apart, a theatre company based at Bank St Arts in the city centre.

The organisers say:

“We are about to begin some sessions for young people in Pitsmoor Methodist church. We will be running a youth service on Fridays up to December (and beyond subject to funding). The youth service will give the young people the opportunity to develop their confidence and social skills through being training in different performance areas such as dance, drama, media and acting. They will work with professionals to develop their skills and expand their knowledge.”

The sessions are open for 13 to 18 year olds and will be running every Friday from 7-9pm. The cost is £1 week and the young people will be working towards an arts qualification called the Arts Award at Level 1, 2 and 3.
