Arabic achievements
Story: Lisa Swift
On 17th June the Arabic Language School held their annual celebration to recognise the achievements of their students.
The hall at the Firvale centre was full to overflowing with parents and young people. Those present were entertained by performances by students of traditional Yemeni dance, live music and singing, and drama in both English and Arabic. Applause and cheers from the crowd left students in no doubt about how proud the Yemeni community is of their achievements.
Finally students were presented with certificates and gifts for their exam results from the Head teacher Musaid Al-Hakam, chair of the Yemeni Community Association Saleh al-Noud, and special guests including Jane Brown from Sheffield Languages and the Chair of the Yemeni Community in America Ali Bileed.
