Ready to harvest. Thompson and Morgan mixed salad leaves sown 1st February.

Its easy to get started growing your own food. You can grow healthy salad leaves in a seed tray on a window sill.

Sow them in a seed tray filled with potting compost. Place in a light, warm place but not near a radiator, keep the compost moist and cut the leaves with scissors about six weeks after sowing, leaving the growing point for the plants to re-grow. The crop can be cut three times.

Come and get a free packet of cut and come again salad leaf seeds from the Tool Bank and give it a try.
