Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme is inviting all young people aged 8-16 years old to get involved in our weekly sporting activities taking place in and around Burngreave. Following a successful pilot project that ran every Saturday night throughout August, the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme will be delivering evening, weekend and holiday activities during the 09/10 season, giving young people in the area an opportunity to be trained by professional coaches and watch Sheffield Wednesday FC in Championship action at Hillsborough.

Young people who attend will also be given the opportunity to play in regular matches against other community teams in Sheffield and play in tournaments involving other professional football clubs. Sheffield Wednesday have also teamed up with Burngreave Boxing Club and will be encouraging young people to attend Earsham Street gym with Wednesday coaches to improve fitness and discipline.

Weekly sessions will start at the end of September. Please look out for posters advertising the free sessions at the following venues: Byron Wood Playing Fields (Saturdays 11am – 12.30pm), Nottingham Cliff Rec (Thursdays 5pm – 7pm), Verdon Recreation Centre and Burngreave Amateur Boxing Club.
