The Mbodi Family thank all their supporters

My two sons and I were delighted to get a letter from the UK Border Agency two weeks ago telling us that we have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. We would like to thank everybody who supported us by signing our petition or sending our model letter to the Home Secretary. Our special thanks go to our solicitor, Mr R. Ali Hussain at Parker-Rhodes Solicitors, everyone involved in the Sheffield Committee to Defend Asylum Seekers, the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns, the Burngreave Messenger, the doctors and other staff at the Mulberry Clinic, the boys’ schools, local churches and the Sheffield City of Sanctuary.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage other asylum seekers to continue with their good fight to stay here. We are certain that we were successful because of the campaign we organised and the support it attracted from so many people, most of them complete strangers. We urge others still struggling to remain here to take heart from our story and build a strong campaign, which will undoubtedly lead to a successful conclusion.
