Becoming a Young Advisor?

Farhan Ahmed

Story: Farhan Ahmed

The Sheffield Young Advisors is a group of young people who have been trained to provide a supportive service to the community

I have been a Young Advisor for a year now and have had the opportunity to organise events, provide training to professionals, get accreditation for different courses, help the community and this list can go on.

It’s not all work, it’s fun too. Every year a residential is held and throughout the year we are invited to visit other Young Advisors in different cities. This is a chance to travel and meet new people. You will be able to look at other communities and use this information to improve your own area.

If you are between 16 and 21, then you can become a Young Advisor. It only requires up to 5 hours a week and everything is paid for, so what have you got to lose?
