This summer, with the help of 8-13 Positive Activities funding, Reach High 2 Study Support provided a whole range of valuable activities for young people.

Cycling days were aimed at children who don't have bikes at home and rarely get the chance to cycle. The sessions introduced a simple outdoor activity to young people who in the past may have struggled to cycle or had never been taught. It gave them a new found confidence and sense of achievement.

Healthy Eating sessions gave children an opportunity to develop new culinary skills, many of whom had never cooked before. The children made healthy lunches and snacks and learnt how to make healthier choices when buying from the supermarket and shops. They also learnt how to make healthy buns and cakes at home. The play scheme through the summer was full of creativity and outdoor fun, including visits to the park, town centre, local football ground, as well as making gift boxes. There was also a mini football tournament.
