A “bring out your rubbish day” is to be held on Wednesday 25th November 2009 in the Pye Bank area.
Residents can bring bulky household junk to the side of the pavement and it will be collected as a bulk job on one particular day. It’s a good way of getting rid of clutter and having a general tidy up of houses and gardens and is especially important in areas of low car ownership where people find it impossible to drive to the major recycling centres – the main way for householders with cars to dispose of large items.
The Burngreave area panel used to organise a number of these events around the ward. Now the Community Assembly has cut the events to just three for selected areas in Burngreave.
The roads covered will be:
Fox St
Christchurch Rd
Rising St
Nottingham St (as far as Rock St)
Nottingham Cliffe
Pye Bank Rd
Pye Bank Drive
Polka Court
Fox Hill
Gray St
Andover St (as far as Rock St)
Items need to be put out before 11am on Wednesday 25th for collection. Not all items can be collected – ring 273 4221 if in any doubt.
